I loved this trail! I think the best thing about it was that in 4 days it brings you through 4 very different environments.
The first day we walked across some of Piedmont's most beautiful rice fields with the mountains being just a far away frame. In April the fields were still flooded with water and this created some neautiful reflexes :)
The second day, the plain became a wood and so we walked across these colorful trees as the trail started to be steeper and steeper.
The third day, the wood became hilly and we began to increase our altitude.
The fourth day, the hills give way to highlands first and to mountains later.
Coincidentally, the day we arrived to the Sanctuary of Oropa corrisponded with the day of the death of Pope Francis. After completing the trail, we were given a certificate with a quote of his. It stated "".
